Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Cut off the required amount of SteelStik putty from the stick. Ensure you cut through both the resin and hardener portions.
- Knead the putty with gloved hands until it becomes a uniform grey color. This typically takes 1-2 minutes.
- Apply the mixed putty firmly to the prepared surface within 5 minutes of mixing.
- Smooth and shape the putty as needed before it begins to harden.
Compatibility:
SteelStik is designed primarily for use on ferrous metals (iron, steel) and aluminum. It adheres well to most clean, dry metal surfaces. It is not recommended for use on plastics, fiberglass, or wood.
Care:
- Store unused sticks in their original packaging in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
- Ensure the cap is securely sealed to prevent premature curing.
- Clean tools and hands immediately after use with soap and water before the putty hardens.
- For best results, ensure the repair area is clean, dry, and free from grease, oil, and loose debris before application.
