This specific model is designed for radio reception and emergency lighting; it does not feature a dedicated USB power output for external devices.
Cranking for 90 seconds typically provides about 10-15 minutes of radio or light usage, depending on volume and brightness settings.
It is IPX4 splashproof, meaning it can handle rain and minor water splashes, but it should not be submerged in water.
The solar panel is intended as a maintenance and trickle-charging tool; it will take a significant amount of direct sunlight to fully charge a depleted battery.
Yes, the unit covers AM, FM, Shortwave, and all NOAA weather radio bands.
The flashlight settings usually include a cycle or dedicated button for the strobe function; please refer to the specific icon on the light control.
Fully extend the telescoping antenna and adjust the orientation of the unit to improve reception.
Verify that the internal battery is charged or check if fresh AA batteries are properly seated in the compartment.
Ensure the crank arm is fully extended and operate at a steady, moderate pace rather than forcing it.
To begin using your Eton Odyssey, first ensure the internal battery is charged via the USB port if a power source is available. If using AA batteries, insert them into the rear compartment, ensuring correct polarity. To maintain the device, avoid exposing the radio to submersion in water, despite its IPX4 rating. If the device remains in storage, cycle the rechargeable battery every few months and crank the handle for one minute to maintain internal components. Keep the solar panel clean and free of dust or debris to ensure maximum efficiency during light absorption.
