Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: The Moldex 5120 CompactMask is designed for immediate use. Ensure the mask is selected for the appropriate hazard and environment. Before each use, perform a user seal check by covering the exhalation valve with your hand and gently breathing in. The mask should slightly collapse and remain so as you hold your breath; if you detect any leakage, adjust the mask or reposition it, and retest.
Compatibility: This mask is designed to be compatible with a wide range of other safety equipment, including:
- Safety glasses
- Goggles
- Face shields
- Welding helmets
Care: As a maintenance-free respirator, the Moldex 5120 does not require traditional cleaning of filter elements. However, the mask body should be kept clean.
- Cleaning the Mask Body: After use, wipe the inside and outside of the mask body with a clean, damp cloth. Mild soap and water can be used if necessary, but ensure the mask is thoroughly rinsed and air-dried completely before storage.
- Storage: Store the mask in a clean, dry place, away from direct sunlight and chemicals. Avoid storing it in areas where it could be crushed or damaged.
- Disposal: When the filters are exhausted (indicated by increased breathing resistance, odor detection, or after the recommended use period), or if the mask is damaged, it must be disposed of properly. Dispose of the entire mask unit as per local regulations for contaminated waste.
