FAQs

How many times can each bag be used?

Each Munchkin Microwave Steriliser Bag can be used up to 30 times. It's recommended to use the provided spot to mark each steam cycle for tracking.

What is the minimum and maximum microwave wattage suitable for these bags?

The bags are suitable for domestic microwave ovens from 500W up to 1200W.

Can I sterilise baby bottles with the teats attached?

No, do not sterilise bottles with teats fitted. These bags are designed for smaller items like teats, soothers, and accessories.

How much water do I need to add to the bag?

You must add exactly 60ml of water to the bag. Using less water can cause damage to the bag and its contents.

How long should I microwave the bag for?

Microwave times vary based on wattage: 1.5 mins for 1100w+, 3 mins for 800-1100w, and 5 mins for 600-750w. Always refer to the packaging or product leaflet for precise timings.

Is it safe to handle the bag immediately after microwaving?

No, the bag will be hot. Always use the Cool-Touch™ grip provided and allow the bag to cool for 10 minutes before handling.

Can these bags be used for anything other than sterilisation?

No, these bags are specifically designed for microwave steam sterilisation and are not suitable for cooking purposes or use with metallic objects.

Troubleshooting

Bag does not seal properly

Ensure the zip closure is completely fastened and free from debris. Check the bag for any signs of damage.

Items are not sterilised effectively

Verify that 60ml of water was used and that the microwave time was appropriate for your microwave's wattage. Ensure the bag was not overloaded.

Bag appears damaged after use

Inspect the bag carefully. If any signs of damage are present, discard the bag and use a new one. Do not use damaged bags.

Contents or bag are warped

This is likely due to insufficient water. Always ensure 60ml of water is used, and do not exceed the recommended microwave heating time.
