Product Information

Full details

The Under Armour Reign XT is designed for athletes and gym-goers who prioritize stability and responsiveness during high-intensity training sessions. Featuring UA HOVR cushioning and TriBase technology, these shoes provide an excellent balance of comfort and ground contact for lifting and dynamic movements. While they excel in gym settings, the specialized tread pattern and low-profile design may be less ideal for long-distance outdoor running or rough, uneven terrain.

FAQs

Are these shoes good for running?

They are designed for short sprints and HIIT-based training, but they are not recommended for long-distance running due to the flat, stable sole construction.

What is the heel-to-toe drop?

The Reign XT features an 8mm offset.

Do these provide good arch support?

The shoe provides a neutral fit with a stable base, suitable for most foot types during athletic training.

How do I ensure the right fit?

The shoe is built for a standard athletic fit. If you prefer extra room for toe splay during lifts, ensure you account for your typical gym shoe size.

Can I use these for outdoor sports?

They are optimized for gym environments. While they can handle occasional outdoor training, the outsole is designed primarily for flat, high-friction gym surfaces.

Troubleshooting

Feeling instability during lifts

Ensure the laces are tightened specifically around the TPU film cage to maximize the lockdown effect.

Debris stuck in the TriBase sole

Use a soft brush or a blunt plastic tool to carefully remove any small rocks or debris from the grooves to restore full ground contact.

Uncomfortable heel pressure

Check that the slim TPU heel stabilizer is sitting flush against your heel and try adjusting your sock thickness.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Exceptional stability for weightlifting
Lightweight feel prevents drag during agility work
Secure containment through the TPU film cage
Responsive cushioning for varied HIIT exercises

Cons

Not suitable for long-distance road running
Limited traction on extremely loose outdoor surfaces
Low-profile aesthetic may not suit all foot shapes

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the longevity of your Reign XT shoes, keep the following in mind:

Break-in Period: While the soft tongue makes them comfortable immediately, wearing them for light activity for the first few sessions will allow the TPU cage to conform better to your foot shape.
Surface Compatibility: These are best used on indoor gym mats, rubberized flooring, or clean turf. Avoid heavy mud or gravel to keep the TriBase grooves clear.
Cleaning: Hand wash using a soft-bristled brush and mild soap. Never place them in a washing machine or dryer, as high heat can compromise the integrity of the TPU stabilizers and the HOVR foam. Air dry in a shaded area away from direct sunlight.
