FAQs

What are the dimensions of the planter?

The planter has a narrow, curved trough design, maximizing growing space in a compact footprint. Specific dimensions are detailed in the product manual.

How much compost does each trough hold?

Each of the four deep troughs holds approximately 30 litres of compost.

Is the Vigoroot fabric durable?

Yes, the Vigoroot fabric is designed for outdoor use and is durable for all seasons, promoting good drainage and air circulation.

Can I grow root vegetables in this planter?

While ideal for herbs, salads, and strawberries, the planter is best suited for plants that do not require exceptionally deep root systems. Small carrots or radishes may be possible.

Does it come assembled?

No, the Vigoroot Balcony Garden Planter comes flat-packed and requires simple assembly. Full instructions are provided.

How does the Vigoroot fabric help my plants?

The Vigoroot fabric encourages 'air pruning' of roots as they grow and reach the fabric's sides. This prevents roots from circling and becoming pot-bound, instead promoting a denser, healthier root system, which leads to better nutrient uptake and higher yields.

Can this planter be used indoors?

The planter is designed for outdoor use to benefit from natural airflow and sunlight. Indoor use is not recommended as it may lead to inadequate drainage and light.

Troubleshooting

Planter seems unstable after assembly

Ensure all frame components are securely fastened and that the planter is placed on a level surface.

Water pooling in troughs

Check that the drainage holes in the Vigoroot fabric are not blocked. Ensure the planter is not overwatered.

Plants not growing vigorously

Verify plants are receiving adequate sunlight and air circulation. Check soil moisture levels and consider adding appropriate fertilizer.

Pests or slugs on plants

Ensure plants are adequately elevated above ground level. Consider natural pest deterrents if issues persist.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: The Vigoroot Balcony Garden Planter arrives flat-packed and requires simple assembly. Ensure all components are present according to the instructions provided before starting. Assembly typically involves connecting the frame pieces and securing the fabric troughs.

Compatibility: This planter is ideal for growing herbs, salad leaves, strawberries, bush tomatoes, and other small vegetables that thrive in containers. It is best suited for outdoor areas such as patios, balconies, or roof terraces that receive adequate sunlight and airflow. Ensure the ground surface is stable and level before placing the planter.

Care: The Vigoroot fabric is durable and designed for outdoor use. To clean, empty the planter and wipe the fabric with a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals. During winter, empty the planter and store it in a dry place if possible, though the fabric is designed to withstand seasonal conditions.
