Setup, Compatibility & Care
- Planning: Layout your desired path or bed edge using string lines or spray paint to ensure smooth curves and straight lines.
- Excavation: Dig a trench deep enough to bury the lower section of the edging, ensuring stability and preventing the unit from tipping.
- Bedding: Lay a base of compacted sharp sand or lean-mix concrete into the trench to create a level, firm foundation.
- Placement: Set the stones into the trench, checking for alignment with a spirit level to ensure a consistent height.
- Backfilling: Once the units are secure, backfill the soil or mulch against both sides of the stone and compact it firmly.
For ongoing care, clear debris from the scalloped edges periodically to maintain the decorative look. Use a soft-bristled brush to remove moss or dirt buildup, and avoid using heavy-duty power washers directly on the stone to preserve the natural surface finish.
