Revell Contacta Professional Liquid Glue - 25g

It is specifically formulated for polystyrene (PS) plastic, which is the most common plastic used in injection-molded model kits. It is not suitable for other materials like resin, metal, vinyl, or other types of plastics like ABS.

Yes, it is designed to be used on the edges of clear plastic parts without causing the 'fogging' or 'frosting' effect that some other plastic cements can cause. Apply it sparingly and precisely to the mating surfaces.

An initial bond forms very quickly, often within seconds, allowing you to hold parts together. However, for a full, strong, and permanent weld, it's recommended to allow at least several hours, ideally 24 hours, for the glue to fully cure.

Always recap the bottle immediately and tightly after every use. Storing the bottle upright also helps. If a clog occurs, refer to the troubleshooting section for instructions on how to clear it with a fine wire.

Revell Contacta Professional uses an extra-fine hollow needle for highly precise application and its liquid formula "welds" the plastic by slightly melting the surfaces together for a stronger, more seamless bond. Tube cements are often thicker, less precise, and can be messier.

Yes, like most plastic cements, Revell Contacta Professional contains solvents that release fumes. Always use the product in a well-ventilated area to ensure your safety and comfort.

If skin contact occurs, wash the affected area immediately with soap and water. If irritation persists, seek medical advice. Avoid prolonged skin contact and do not ingest.

Check if the cap is fully removed. The needle might be clogged; try gently squeezing the bottle to dislodge any dry glue. If persistent, carefully insert a fine wire (e.g., from a bread tie or a fine sewing needle) into the hollow needle to clear the blockage. Ensure the wire is smaller than the needle's bore to avoid damage.

Revell Contacta Professional relies on capillary action. You only need to touch the needle to the joint. Avoid squeezing the bottle unless absolutely necessary for initial priming. Practice on a scrap piece to get a feel for the minimal pressure required.

Ensure both surfaces are clean and free of paint, dust, or mold release agents. Dry-fit the parts to ensure a tight fit before gluing. After applying glue, hold the parts firmly together for at least 10-20 seconds to allow the plastic to melt and weld. Allow sufficient curing time (up to 24 hours) before handling roughly.

This often happens if the cap is left off for too long. Always recap the bottle immediately after each use, even for short breaks. If it clogs, refer to the solution for 'Glue is not flowing from the needle'.

This indicates over-application. Revell Contacta Professional is very potent. For future applications, use an even smaller amount and allow capillary action to draw it in. For existing damage, allow the glue to fully cure, then very carefully sand and polish the affected area if possible. For deep damage, model putty may be required.
