Setup, Compatibility & Care
To begin, direct sow seeds from April to May in a sunny location with well-drained soil, planting at a depth of 1cm in drills spaced 45cm apart. For an earlier start, sow indoors from March to April in 7.5cm pots at temperatures between 20-25°C. Germination typically occurs within 21 days. Once seedlings are large enough to handle, thin them to 30cm apart. Throughout the season, keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Because this variety is compact, place stakes or canes near the stems early in the season to prevent them from snapping in high winds. Use a balanced liquid feed regularly to support the multi-headed growth habit.
