Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your sewing project remains high-quality, follow these preparation and care guidelines:
- Pre-washing: Always pre-wash the fabric at 40 degrees Celsius before cutting to allow for any minor initial shrinkage.
- Cutting: Use a rotary cutter with a sharp blade and a cutting mat. Because the fabric is lightweight and has a crinkled texture, use pattern weights instead of pins to keep the fabric flat and prevent distortion.
- Sewing: Use a universal needle (size 70/10 or 80/12) and a slightly longer stitch length to accommodate the double-layer thickness without puckering.
- Ironing: Avoid heavy ironing which can press out the signature crinkles. If pressing is necessary, use a steam setting and light pressure.
