The Draper Hand Riveter Kit (27847) is designed for DIY users and hobbyists needing a reliable tool for joining materials with blind rivets. Its primary benefit is the durable construction and inclusion of multiple nozzle sizes for versatility, making it suitable for various small-scale projects. A potential caveat is that the included assortment of rivets may be limited for extensive use, requiring separate purchases for larger jobs.

This Draper Hand Riveter (27847) is designed for aluminium alloy blind rivets in sizes 2.4mm, 3.2mm, 4.0mm, and 4.8mm.
The kit comes with an assortment of approximately 60 aluminium alloy rivets.
This riveter is primarily designed for DIY users and light to medium-duty tasks. For continuous heavy-duty professional use, a pneumatic or heavier-duty manual riveter might be more appropriate.
To change the nozzle, unscrew the current nozzle from the head of the riveter and screw on the desired size. Ensure it is securely tightened before use.
The frame is made of blue enamelled pressed steel for durability.
While the tool is designed for aluminium alloy rivets, it may be able to set small steel rivets (e.g., 2.4mm or 3.2mm), but performance may vary and it's not its primary intended use. Always check the rivet manufacturer's recommendations.
Ensure you are using the correct nozzle size for the rivet diameter. Check that the rivet mandrel is fully inserted into the riveter's jaws. Verify the rivet is properly seated in the nozzle. For larger rivets, ensure you are applying sufficient, steady force.
Clean the jaws thoroughly to remove any debris or lubricant. If jaws appear worn, they may need replacement, though this is uncommon for typical DIY use.
Apply a small amount of light machine oil to the pivot point and any moving jaw components. Work the handles back and forth to distribute the oil. Wipe away any excess.
Setup: No complex setup is required. Select the appropriate nozzle size for your blind rivets by screwing it into the riveter's head. Insert a rivet into the selected nozzle. Place the rivet's mandrel into the material you wish to join, ensuring the pieces are aligned.
Compatibility: This riveter is compatible with aluminium alloy blind rivets in the following sizes: 2.4mm, 3.2mm, 4.0mm, and 4.8mm. It is not designed for solid rivets or larger diameter rivets.
Care: After use, clean any dust or debris from the jaws and nozzle area. Apply a small amount of light oil to the pivot point and moving parts occasionally to ensure smooth operation. Store the riveter in a dry place to prevent rust. Periodically check that the nozzles are securely attached.
