Product Information

Full details

The Silentnight Comfort Breathe 1400 Mattress is designed for sleepers who prioritize temperature regulation and firm support, making it an ideal choice for those who often overheat during the night. Featuring specialized airflow fibers and a responsive 1400 Mirapocket spring system, it offers excellent pressure relief and body adaptation; however, users who prefer a soft, cloud-like sink-in feel may find the firmer tension profile less suited to their personal comfort preferences.

FAQs

Does this mattress require a specific type of bed base?

It performs best on a platform top divan or a slatted base with slats spaced at a maximum of 7cm apart.

How often should I flip the mattress?

You should flip and rotate it monthly for the first six months, then every three months after that.

Is this mattress suitable for side sleepers?

While it provides excellent support, the firm rating may be too rigid for some side sleepers; it is primarily recommended for back or stomach sleepers.

What is the warranty coverage?

This mattress comes with a 5-year manufacturer's guarantee, provided it is used with an appropriate base and cared for according to instructions.

Does the cooling technology require electricity or water?

No, the cooling effect is achieved through the physical structure of the airflow fibers which naturally dissipate heat.

Troubleshooting

The mattress feels too hard initially

New mattresses often have a 'settling-in' period of up to four weeks while the fillings adjust to your body weight and temperature.

Feeling movement from a sleeping partner

Ensure the mattress is centered correctly on the base and that the base itself is stable and not creaking or moving.

Uneven surface wear

Adhere to a strict rotation and flipping schedule to redistribute the internal fillings evenly.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Significantly improved cooling performance compared to standard foam
Double-sided design increases the overall lifespan of the mattress
Individual pocket springs minimize motion transfer between sleeping partners
Zoned support helps alleviate pressure points across the body

Cons

Firm tension may be too rigid for side sleepers who prefer cushioning
Requires regular flipping and rotating, which can be physically demanding for some
Lacks the 'enveloping' feeling found in memory foam mattresses

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your Silentnight Comfort Breathe 1400 remains in optimal condition, place it on a supportive base such as a platform top divan or a slatted frame with slats spaced no more than 7cm apart. Upon arrival, allow the mattress to air out in a well-ventilated room for a few hours before use. As this is a double-sided mattress, you should rotate it head-to-foot and flip it over every month for the first six months, and then every three months thereafter. This practice is essential to prevent dipping and to ensure the fillings settle evenly across the entire surface. Avoid using harsh chemicals for cleaning; instead, use a vacuum attachment to remove dust and a mild, damp cloth for spot cleaning if necessary.
