The Bahco Slip Joint Water Pump Pliers are designed for professional plumbers, mechanics, and dedicated DIY enthusiasts who require a reliable tool for gripping and turning pipes or fasteners. The primary benefit is the combination of a high-strength steel alloy build and an ergonomic grip, which ensures maximum leverage with minimal hand strain. One notable caveat is that while these pliers are highly durable for general plumbing tasks, the 25cm length may limit access in extremely tight, recessed automotive engine bays compared to smaller needle-nose alternatives.

While the jaws are robust, we recommend placing a cloth between the pliers and chrome surfaces to prevent scratching the finish.
Bahco tools are designed for professional use and are generally covered by a warranty against manufacturing defects; please check with your specific retailer for local terms.
This is a global standard that dictates the testing requirements for safety, jaw geometry, and hardness for water pump pliers, ensuring consistent performance.
Clean the pivot area of debris and apply a small amount of machine oil to the hinge.
Ensure the pliers are adjusted to the correct width using the micro-adjust feature and verify that the jaw teeth are clean of grease.
These pliers are ready to use immediately out of the box with no complex setup required. The tool is compatible with a wide range of pipe diameters and hexagonal nuts, typically spanning from small residential pipes to larger automotive fittings. To ensure a long service life, wipe the jaws clean after contact with grease or debris. Periodically apply a light machine oil to the slip-joint pivot mechanism to ensure the sliding movement remains smooth. Store the pliers in a dry environment to maintain the integrity of the corrosion-resistant finish.
