FAQs

Can I use this controller with my PlayStation 4?

While the DualSense controller is primarily designed for the PS5, it can be used with a PS4 for basic input functions, but advanced features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers may not be supported or fully functional.

How long does the battery last?

Battery life varies depending on usage and features enabled. With standard use, you can expect several hours of gameplay. Activating advanced haptic feedback and adaptive triggers may reduce battery life.

How do I update the controller's firmware?

Connect the controller to a PlayStation 5 console. The console will typically prompt you to update the firmware when a new version is available. Alternatively, you can use the PlayStation's accessories app on a PC to check for and install updates.

Is this controller compatible with mobile gaming?

Yes, the DualSense controller supports Bluetooth connectivity for compatible iOS and Android devices, allowing you to play mobile games that support gamepads.

What is the difference between Haptic Feedback and traditional rumble?

Haptic Feedback uses dual actuators to provide a much wider range of tactile sensations, offering more nuanced and realistic feedback compared to the simpler vibration motors in traditional controllers.

Can I customize the adaptive trigger resistance?

Adaptive trigger resistance is game-dependent and implemented by the game developers. Some games may offer in-game options to adjust the intensity or disable the feature.

What does the '007 First Light™' edition signify?

This is a limited edition design inspired by the iconic James Bond franchise, featuring a unique aesthetic that reflects the '007' theme. It includes the same core functionality as a standard DualSense controller but with a distinct visual style.

Troubleshooting

Controller not connecting to console/device

Ensure the controller is charged. Try connecting it via USB-C cable first to establish a connection, then attempt Bluetooth pairing. Reset the controller by holding the PS button and Create button for 10 seconds.

Haptic feedback or adaptive triggers not working

Verify that these features are enabled in the console or PC game's settings. Ensure the controller firmware is up to date via a PlayStation console or the PC companion app.

Audio issues with built-in microphone or headset jack

Check that the correct audio input/output device is selected in your system's settings. Ensure the headset is fully plugged into the jack and is compatible.

Controller not charging

Try a different USB-C cable and a different power source. Ensure the charging port on the controller is clean and free of debris.

Input lag or unresponsiveness

Minimize wireless interference by moving closer to your console/device or using a wired connection. Close unnecessary background applications on PC/Mac. Ensure controller firmware is updated.
