It can be used as an iron supplement when Flourish is not sufficient. Thanks to its formula, once poured into the aquarium, Flourish Iron remains in its ferrous form (Fe2+) for a long period, unlike formulas in the form of ferric iron, which must be converted by the plant at root level to benefit all parts of the plant.
