Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installation must be performed by a qualified mechanic. Because the air conditioning system is a pressurized loop, the existing refrigerant must be recovered safely using certified equipment before removing the old compressor.
- Ensure the engine is cool and the battery is disconnected.
- Evacuate the refrigerant system using a vacuum recovery station.
- Remove the auxiliary belt to gain access to the compressor unit.
- Disconnect electrical connections and refrigerant hoses (replace O-rings during reassembly).
- Install the new pump, torque fasteners to factory specifications, and vacuum test the system for leaks before recharging with the correct amount of refrigerant oil and gas.
