Setup, Compatibility & Care
Compatibility:
Before purchasing, it is crucial to verify that the NGK CR10EIX spark plug is compatible with your specific motorcycle or bike make, model, and year. Consult your vehicle's owner's manual or use NGK's online cross-reference tool to confirm the correct part number.
**Setup (Installation):
**
- Ensure the engine is cool before starting.
- Carefully remove the old spark plug using a spark plug socket wrench.
- Inspect the new NGK CR10EIX plug for any defects.
- Thread the new plug in by hand to avoid cross-threading.
- Tighten the spark plug to the manufacturer's specified torque using a torque wrench. Overtightening can damage the cylinder head, while undertightening can lead to poor sealing.
Care:
NGK Iridium spark plugs are designed for long life and typically do not require regular maintenance. However, if you remove the plug for inspection, ensure it is reinstalled correctly. Keep the spark plug area clean to prevent debris from entering the cylinder.
