Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Preparation: Strip the cable to expose the wires. Use a wire stripper to remove the insulation, leaving about 5mm of exposed wire. Pre-tin the wires with solder.
- Assembly: Insert the wires through the strain relief and into the terminal pins. Ensure each wire connects to the correct pin (refer to a DIN pinout diagram for correct wiring).
- Soldering: Solder each wire to the corresponding pin. Ensure a clean and secure solder joint.
- Strain Relief: Once the soldering is complete, slide the strain relief into place, securing the cable and preventing stress.
Compatibility
The kenable 5 Pin DIN Male Soldering End Terminal is compatible with:
- 5-pin DIN cables.
- Cables up to 6mm in diameter.
- A wide range of devices using 5-pin DIN connectors, including MIDI devices and older audio equipment.
Care
- Handle the terminal with care during assembly to avoid damaging the pins.
- Use a soldering iron with proper temperature control to prevent overheating.
- Inspect the solder joints for any cold solder joints or shorts.
- Store the terminals in a dry place to prevent corrosion.
