The Simply 400AMP Jump Leads are essential emergency tools designed for everyday drivers who need a reliable solution for dead batteries in vehicles with engines up to 2500CC. These 2.5-meter cables provide sufficient reach and safety, though users should ensure their vehicle's engine size does not exceed the 2500CC capacity to avoid cable overheating.

No, these leads are rated for engines up to 2500CC. Using them on larger engines may cause the cables to overheat.
Generally, it is safer to keep the donor engine off while making the initial connections to prevent electrical surges, though some procedures suggest running it briefly before attempting to start the dead vehicle.
Positive terminals are typically marked with a '+' sign and often have a red cover, while negative terminals are marked with a '-' sign.
No, jumping electric vehicles or hybrids is generally not supported by standard lead sets and can damage the vehicle's electrical systems.
Wipe them down with a dry, clean cloth after use. Avoid using water or harsh solvents directly on the cable insulation.
Ensure all four clamps have a firm, direct metal-to-metal connection on the battery terminals and that the recipient vehicle's grounding point is free of paint or grime.
Immediately disconnect the leads as the engine size may exceed the 400AMP rating, or there may be a severe short-circuit in the recipient vehicle's battery system.
To ensure the longevity of your cables, always clean the metal clamps after use to remove any potential corrosion or battery acid residue. Store the leads in the provided zip-up bag in a dry environment to prevent moisture buildup on the terminals. Before each use, inspect the cable insulation for any nicks or cuts. These leads are compatible with most standard passenger vehicles up to 2500CC; however, avoid using them on larger commercial vehicles or heavy-duty machinery as the 400AMP rating may be insufficient, potentially causing the leads to heat up dangerously.
