The Entopest Indian Meal Moth Pheromone Traps are designed for homeowners, food service professionals, and warehouse managers who need to identify and manage infestations of Plodia interpunctella, or Indian meal moths. The primary benefit of this system is its professional-strength, pheromone-based approach that lures male moths to adhesive pads, providing a reliable way to monitor population levels in kitchen and pantry environments. While highly effective at capturing and monitoring, the kit does not eliminate existing larvae or eggs already embedded in food products, meaning it must be paired with thorough cleaning and source removal for complete control.

Yes, the traps are designed specifically for pantries and kitchens. The adhesive and pheromones are contained safely within the plastic housing.
For a standard home kitchen, one or two traps are usually sufficient. For larger storage areas, space them 5-10 meters apart.
The traps identify the presence of moths, but you must inspect all dry goods for signs of webbing or larvae to eliminate the source of the infestation.
These are designed for indoor use. Outdoor usage will cause the pheromone to degrade rapidly and attract unwanted attention from other insects.
The adhesive is non-toxic but can be sticky. Use vegetable oil or a mild solvent to gently remove the adhesive residue from your skin.
Verify the insect species; ensure they are Indian meal moths and not a different pantry pest. Check that the adhesive pad has not lost its tackiness.
Check the date of installation. Pheromone pads are typically effective for up to 8 weeks. If the pad is older, replace it with a fresh refill.
Ensure the plastic holders are placed on a flat, stable surface or use double-sided tape to secure them to the interior wall of a cupboard.
To set up the Entopest trap, peel the protective film from the adhesive pad and insert it securely into the plastic holder. Place the holder in a location free of strong air currents, which could dissipate the pheromone too quickly. While the plastic holders are designed to be reused indefinitely, the adhesive pads should be replaced every 6 to 8 weeks, or sooner if the surface becomes saturated with dust or captured insects. Ensure the units are kept away from heat sources or direct sunlight to maintain the integrity of the pheromone. If a holder becomes dirty, it can be wiped down with a damp cloth; avoid using strong chemical cleaners that might mask the pheromone scent.
