Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the best results and maintain hair health, proper setup, understanding compatibility, and consistent after-care are essential.
Setup
- Read Instructions Thoroughly: Before starting, carefully read the entire instruction leaflet provided in the box.
- Perform a Patch Test: Always conduct a skin allergy patch test 48 hours before each application, even if you have used hair color products before. Apply a small amount of the mixed product to a clean area of skin, such as behind the ear or on the inner elbow. Leave it undisturbed for 48 hours and check for any reaction like redness, itching, or swelling.
- Prepare Your Space: Lay down old towels or newspaper to protect surfaces from potential spills. Wear old clothing that you don't mind getting stained.
- Hair Preparation: Ensure your hair is dry and free of styling products before application. Do not shampoo immediately before coloring unless specified in the instructions.
- Gather Tools: Put on the protective gloves provided in the kit. Have a timer ready to accurately track processing time.
Compatibility
- Hair Type: This product is generally suitable for most hair types.
- Previous Treatments: > Info needed: Consult the product leaflet for specific guidance on compatibility with previously colored, permed, relaxed, or chemically treated hair.
- Shade Suitability: The 7.12 Sweet Latte shade is designed for specific underlying hair colors. Review the shade chart on the packaging to ensure it aligns with your desired outcome.
Care
- Rinsing: After the development time, rinse hair thoroughly with lukewarm water until the water runs clear.
- Post-Color Conditioner: Use the conditioner provided in the kit or a dedicated color-safe conditioner to help seal the cuticle and lock in color.
- Color Maintenance: To prolong the vibrancy and life of your hair color:
- Use color-safe shampoos and conditioners.
- Wash hair with cooler water, as hot water can cause color to fade faster.
- Limit exposure to harsh sunlight, chlorine, and saltwater, which can affect color.
- > Info needed: Recommended re-application frequency for roots and full color refreshment.
