FAQs

What is the main advantage of the EVO Shorty design?

The EVO Shorty is specifically designed to bolt directly to the fork brace, preventing it from hitting the fork crown during full suspension compression, which is a common issue with other mudguard designs.

What wheel and tire sizes does this mudguard fit?

It is compatible with 26", 27.5", and 29" wheels and can accommodate tires up to 3 inches wide.

How do I know which version of the EVO mudguard fits my bike?

You must consult the fitment guide provided by Mudhugger. Specific bolt-on versions are available for certain Marzocchi and DVO forks. If your fork isn't listed, a zip-tie or quick-fit version might be suitable.

What material is the mudguard made from?

The Mudhugger EVO Front Mudguard is made from 100% recycled polypropylene.

What is the difference between the Shorty and Long versions?

The Shorty version has a total length of 390mm (105mm front / 285mm rear extension). The Long versions offer greater coverage, with lengths typically around 515mm to 525mm depending on the fork type.

Does it come with installation hardware?

Yes, the mudguard is supplied with the relevant installation hardware for the specific fitment option you select, provided your fork is listed in the fitment guide.

Where is the mudguard designed and manufactured?

The Mudhugger EVO Front Mudguard is designed and manufactured in the UK.

Troubleshooting

Mudguard contacts fork crown

Ensure you have the correct model for your fork and that it is installed according to the fitment guide. For bolt-on versions, confirm all mounting bolts are tightened. If using zip-ties, ensure they are maximally tightened.

Mudguard is loose or rattles

Check that all mounting hardware is fully tightened. For zip-tie or strap fittings, re-tighten them firmly. Ensure the mudguard is correctly seated against the fork brace.

Mudguard does not fit my fork

Double-check the fork compatibility chart. If your fork is not listed, you may need to consider the standard EVO Zip-tie or Quick Fit version. Contact Mudhugger support for assistance.

Excessive mud spray despite mudguard

Ensure the mudguard is positioned correctly and that the hidden front mud deflector is in place. For very wet conditions, consider if a longer rear extension version might offer more protection.

Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions

Compatibility:

Before purchasing, it is crucial to consult the fitment guide to ensure the Mudhugger EVO Front Mudguard is compatible with your specific front fork model. Dedicated bolt-on versions are available for certain Marzocchi and DVO forks. If your fork is not listed, a standard EVO Zip-tie or Quick Fit version may be suitable. The mudguard is designed for 26", 27.5", and 29" wheels with tires up to 3" wide.

Installation (Bolt-on):

Identify the correct mounting points on your fork brace.
Use the supplied hardware to securely attach the mudguard.
Ensure the mudguard is centered and has adequate clearance.

Installation (Zip-tie/Quick Fit):

If a bolt-on version is not applicable, use the provided zip-ties or quick-fit straps.
Secure the mudguard to the fork legs and/or crown, following the specific instructions for the chosen fitting method.
Ensure a tight, secure fit.

Care:

Clean the mudguard with water and mild soap using a soft cloth or sponge.
Avoid using abrasive cleaners or high-pressure washers, which can damage the material.
Periodically check that all mounting hardware or zip-ties are secure.
