FAQs
Is this cap one size fits all?
Yes, the 9FORTY model features an adjustable rear strap that allows it to fit most adult head sizes comfortably.
Can I put this cap in the washing machine?
No, machine washing can damage the internal structure and the pre-curved visor. Hand washing is recommended.
Is the material breathable?
The polyester fabric is lightweight; however, it is not as ventilated as performance mesh caps, making it better suited for casual wear.
How do I maintain the curve of the visor?
Avoid bending the visor backwards or sitting on the cap. If it loses its curve, you can gently reshape it with your hands and store it on a flat surface.
Is this an official MLB product?
Yes, New Era is the official headwear provider for MLB teams, ensuring authentic team branding.
Troubleshooting
Cap loses its shape after improper storage
Stuff the crown with a soft towel or small pillow to reshape it, then let it sit for 24 hours.
Visible dust or lint buildup
Use a standard adhesive lint roller to lift particles from the polyester fabric without damaging the fibres.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Fully adjustable fit for maximum comfort
- Durable polyester fabric retains shape
- Classic, timeless team branding
- Lightweight and breathable for daily use
Cons
- Hand wash only to prevent warping
- Material may trap heat in extreme summer temperatures
- Not suitable for high-intensity athletic performance
Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup is straightforward: simply adjust the rear strap to your preferred tension to ensure the cap sits snugly against your brow. To maintain the life of your New Era 9FORTY, avoid machine washing or drying, as this can destroy the internal structure and curve of the visor.
Care Instructions:
- Use a soft-bristled brush or a lint roller to remove surface dust.
- For spot cleaning, use a mild detergent mixed with lukewarm water.
- Gently scrub the affected area with a soft cloth.
- Always air dry in a shaded area away from direct sunlight to prevent colour fading.
