Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure the boots are fully laced through all eyelets. Pull the laces firmly and evenly to achieve a snug, secure fit around your foot, then tie them with a double knot to prevent loosening during play. The tighter fit is intentional for performance.
- Break-in: As these boots are designed for a tighter fit, a short break-in period may be beneficial. Wear them for short sessions before full matches to allow the materials to conform to your foot.
Compatibility
These Canterbury Speed Infinite Rugby Boots are specifically designed for soft ground (SG) surfaces. This includes natural grass pitches that are wet, muddy, or soft. They are not recommended for use on firm ground (FG), artificial turf (AG), or indoor surfaces, as this can damage the studs, compromise grip, and potentially lead to injury. Always check the playing surface before use.
Care
- Cleaning: After each use, remove excess mud and debris from the upper and sole. Wipe the synthetic upper with a damp cloth. For stubborn mud, a soft brush can be used. Avoid using harsh cleaning agents or abrasive materials.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources (e.g., radiators, direct sunlight, tumble dryers) as this can damage the synthetic materials and glues.
- Stud Maintenance: Regularly inspect the metal studs for wear, damage, or looseness. Tighten any loose studs before each use. Replace significantly worn or damaged studs with compatible soft ground replacements to maintain optimal performance and safety.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. Keeping them stuffed with newspaper can help maintain their shape and absorb moisture.
- Refer to Label: Always refer to the care label provided inside your boots for specific, detailed care instructions.
