FAQs

Does the box float if dropped in the water?

While the box is weather-resistant and sealed, it is not guaranteed to float, especially when fully loaded with dense metal tackle.

Can I remove all the dividers?

The upper tray dividers are removable, but the central fixed divider must remain in place to maintain the structural integrity of the tray.

Are the Titanium tools interchangeable with standard needles?

The tools are specific to the Retracta range; while they fit securely into the tray slots, they are designed as standalone high-performance tools.

Is the box stackable with other Avid storage products?

The flat design of the lid allows it to sit stably under other gear, but it is not specifically designed with an interlocking stackable system.

What is the best way to clean the seal?

Use a soft brush or a damp cloth to remove grit. Do not use harsh chemical cleaners as they may degrade the rubber gasket over time.

Troubleshooting

Dividers feel loose or shift during transport

Ensure the dividers are pressed firmly into the tracks and check that the fixed central divider is fully seated.

Lid clips feel tight or difficult to open

This is a feature of the weather-seal design; apply firm, even pressure to the center of the clip while opening to avoid putting excessive stress on the plastic.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Comprehensive suite of Titanium tools included
Highly customizable internal compartments
Excellent weather protection for sensitive gear
Sturdy, reliable construction for long-term use

Cons

Fixed dimensions may not fit all compact luggage
Heavier than soft-sided tackle wallets
Requires careful planning to maximize the specific layout

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To get the most out of your box, spend time configuring the adjustable dividers to fit your specific hookbait pot sizes or spool diameters before your first trip. The case is designed to be low-maintenance, but it should be wiped down with a damp cloth if exposed to lake silt or salt spray. Ensure the seal is clear of debris to maintain its weather-resistant properties. Store in a cool, dry place when not in use to extend the life of the plastic housing and seal.
