FAQs
Is the material waterproof?
The rucksack is made from hardwearing 400D oxford fabric, which is water-resistant and suitable for typical fishing conditions, though it is not fully submersible.
Can I fit a chair or unhooking mat on the outside?
While it has external pockets, it is primarily designed as a standalone carry bag. Large items like chairs are usually carried separately.
What is the primary material used?
The Avid Rvs Compact Rucksack is constructed from durable polyester.
Is this suitable for a 48-hour trip?
It depends on your gear requirements. For minimalist anglers, 35 litres is sufficient, but those carrying extensive food, cookware, and bulky winter clothing may find it tight.
How do I clean the base?
The base is designed for easy maintenance; simply wipe away any mud or grime with a damp cloth.
Troubleshooting
Zippers feel stiff or stuck
Check for debris or dirt trapped in the zipper teeth and wipe clean; apply a silicone-based zipper lubricant if necessary.
Shoulder straps sliding during transit
Ensure the webbing is properly threaded through the buckles; adjust the tension while wearing the pack to lock it in place.

- Compact size is perfect for quick sessions or stalking
- High-quality 10mm double zippers
- Comfortable carrying system with waist strap support
- Easy-to-clean base for muddy bank conditions
Cons
- 35-litre capacity is not suitable for long-stay sessions

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setting up the rucksack is straightforward. Adjust the shoulder straps first while the bag is lightly loaded to find your preferred ride height, then secure the waist strap to ensure the weight remains centered.
Care Instructions:
- Cleaning: Use a damp, lint-free cloth to wipe down the base and exterior fabric after use in muddy conditions.
- Maintenance: Ensure the 10mm zippers remain free of grit or sand; if they become sticky, gently wipe them with a clean cloth.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use to prevent material degradation over long periods.
