FAQs

How often should I replace the carbon filter?

The carbon filter should be replaced every 4-6 weeks, or sooner if the air output decreases.

Can I use this pump with any size aquarium?

The AP1 is suitable for small to medium-sized aquariums. Ensure the output is appropriate for your tank's size and the number of fish/plants.

What kind of maintenance does the pump require?

Regularly clean the air stone and tubing. Replace the carbon filter as needed. Ensure the pump is placed in a dry location and is not obstructed.

Where should I place the air pump?

Place the air pump in a dry, well-ventilated area, above the water level of your aquarium to prevent water damage.

What is the purpose of the neoprene diaphragm?

The neoprene diaphragm is designed for long-lasting performance and helps to ensure the pump's durability and efficient operation.

Why is it important to use a check valve?

A check valve prevents water from flowing back into the pump, which can damage the pump, especially during a power outage.

How do I clean the air stone?

Soak the air stone in a solution of warm water and vinegar overnight, then rinse thoroughly. This helps to remove any buildup that may be restricting airflow.

Troubleshooting

Pump is not producing bubbles.

Check the air tubing for kinks or blockages. Inspect the air stone for clogs. Make sure the pump is correctly connected to a power source.

Pump is making excessive noise.

Ensure the pump is placed on a stable surface. Check for any loose parts. Consider replacing the neoprene diaphragm if the noise persists.

Airflow seems weak.

Check and replace the carbon filter if necessary. Ensure the air stone is clean and not clogged. Verify that the tubing is properly connected without any leaks.
