The Faithfull Jenny Caliper (FAICALJEN6) is an essential layout tool designed for machinists, metalworkers, and engineers who require high-precision marking on round or square steel sections. Featuring a 150mm capacity, it offers a reliable way to scribe center lines with accuracy, though users should note it is a specialized tool intended for marking and layout rather than high-tolerance dimensional measurements.

No, this tool is designed primarily for layout and scribing center lines, not for measuring precise thicknesses or diameters.
Yes, it can be used on aluminum, brass, or wood, provided the material surface is firm enough to be scribed.
Use a small, fine-grit honing stone or file to carefully maintain the original taper of the point.
The tool has a 150mm (6-inch) capacity.
Regularly wiping it down to remove metal dust and applying a light machine oil to moving parts will prevent rust and keep it operating smoothly.
Check if the scribe point has become dull and carefully sharpen it using a fine file or oil stone.
Ensure the locating lug is pressed firmly against the edge of the workpiece and verify that the locking nut is tightened securely.
Verify the leg tension is adjusted properly and ensure the straight leg remains perfectly vertical against the workpiece edge.
To set up the caliper, loosen the locking mechanism to adjust the point to your desired width based on the material radius. Ensure the locating lug is flush against your reference edge before scribing. Regarding compatibility, this tool works best on clean, mill-scale-free steel surfaces for maximum scribe visibility. To maintain the tool, keep the pivot point clean of metal debris, lightly oil the sliding components to prevent corrosion, and store it in a dry tool box or rack to protect the sharp scribe tip from damage.
