FAQs

How often should I reapply WT-1?

Depending on riding conditions, WT-1 can last up to 400 miles between applications.

Can I use this on my mountain bike in muddy conditions?

Yes, it is designed as an all-conditions lubricant and performs well in both wet and dry environments.

Do I need to degrease my chain before using WT-1 for the first time?

Yes, for optimal performance, starting with a clean, degreased chain allows the synthetic formula to bond properly.

Is this safe to use on my derailleur pulleys?

Yes, it is suitable for pulley wheels, hubs, and cables, but be sure to wipe off any excess to prevent debris buildup.

What should I do if my chain looks dirty after a ride?

That is a sign the product is working; wipe the surface of the chain with a clean rag to remove the debris that has been pushed out.

Troubleshooting

Chain feels sticky or attracts excess grit

You are likely applying too much lubricant. Apply less in the future and ensure you wipe the exterior of the chain thoroughly with a rag after application.

Drivetrain remains noisy after application

Ensure the lube has had time to penetrate the inner rollers. If the noise persists, your chain may be excessively dirty; perform a deep clean before re-applying.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Reduces the number of products needed for drivetrain maintenance
Exceptional interval between applications (up to 400 miles)
Synthetic formula enhances mechanical efficiency
Cleans and lubricates in a single process
Compatible with a wide range of bicycle components

Cons

Requires wiping excess lube to prevent debris accumulation
More expensive per bottle than basic mineral-based lubes
Effectiveness depends on consistent adherence to the cleaning process

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Before your first application, it is recommended to start with a clean chain to allow the synthetic formula to bond directly to the metal surfaces. To apply: 1. Shake the bottle well. 2. Apply a small drop to each link while backpedaling. 3. Let it sit for a few minutes to penetrate the rollers. 4. Wipe off all excess lube with a clean rag. For maintenance, simply apply to the chain after long rides and wipe away the debris that surfaces. Always store the bottle in a cool, dry place and ensure the cap is tightened to prevent evaporation.
