The Gardner Suspender Surface Float is designed for carp anglers who demand stealth and precision when surface fishing for cautious fish. Its primary benefit is a unique presentation that keeps your hooklink above the water surface to minimize silhouettes, resulting in significantly higher hookup rates. A key caveat for new users is that it requires a specific setup to ensure the hooklink stays positioned correctly, meaning it is better suited for experienced anglers familiar with surface tactics.

Yes, there is a Standard version and an XL version (MPN: SUSXL) available for different casting requirements.
No, this float is specifically designed for surface-floating bait applications to target carp near the top of the water column.
The float is designed to keep the swivel and a portion of the link clear of the water; using a floating hooklink material further assists this presentation.
The tapered rubber sleeves are included to reinforce the stem and prevent the line from causing damage to the float during hard casts or aggressive fish fights.
Yes, the float is highly durable and can be used for multiple sessions, provided you rinse it after use and inspect the components for wear.
Ensure the hooklink swivel is pushed fully into the top silicone sleeve to maintain the intended balance.
Check the silicone sleeve for signs of stretching; if loose, replace the sleeve or ensure you are using the correct size swivel that fits snugly.
To set up the Gardner Suspender, thread your main line through the float stem and secure it with a swivel. The hooklink swivel must be pushed firmly into the specialized top silicone sleeve; this connection is critical for the 'half-cocked' presentation. After use, rinse the float in fresh water to remove lake debris and check the rubber sleeves for signs of wear. Store the float in a tackle box compartment that prevents it from being crushed, as the stem integrity is essential for its performance.
