Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Inspect the marking gauge to ensure all parts are present and undamaged.
- Loosen the thumbscrew to adjust the marking pin to the desired setting.
- Tighten the thumbscrew firmly but not excessively.
- Test the gauge on scrap wood to verify the accuracy of the marking.
Compatibility:
The Irwin Marples MR2049 Marking Gauge is compatible with all types of wood and is suitable for use with a variety of woodworking tools.
Care:
- After use, wipe the marking gauge with a clean, dry cloth to remove any wood dust or debris.
- Store the marking gauge in a dry place to prevent moisture damage.
- Avoid dropping the marking gauge or exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity.
