Product Information
Full details
The Troy Lee Designs Gambit Gloves are designed for adult mountain bikers and trail riders who prioritize impact protection without sacrificing dexterity. By integrating D30 knuckle armor into a softshell chassis, these gloves offer a professional-grade balance of safety and comfort. While they provide excellent ventilation through laser-perforated palms, riders should note that the heavier-duty protection means they are slightly warmer than ultra-lightweight racing gloves during extreme summer heat.

FAQs
Are these gloves suitable for heavy downhill riding?
While they offer significant D30 protection for trail riding, they are designed as a versatile hybrid and may not offer the same level of coverage as dedicated full-gauntlet downhill armor.
Can I put these gloves in the washing machine?
It is highly recommended to hand wash only to protect the conductive touch screen threads and the integrity of the D30 knuckle inserts.
What is D30 material?
D30 is a patented impact-protection material that is soft and flexible in its natural state but locks together during a high-energy impact to absorb and dissipate force.
Are the palms padded?
These gloves use a single-layer palm design, which prioritizes tactile feedback and bar control over bulk, though they offer excellent grip.
How do I choose the right size?
Measure the circumference of your hand around the knuckles, excluding the thumb, and refer to the Troy Lee Designs official sizing chart for the most accurate fit.
Troubleshooting
Touch screen responsiveness is intermittent.
Ensure the conductive patch on the finger is clean and free of mud; check that the glove is pulled fully tight so the material makes firm contact with your skin.
Glove feels tight around the knuckles.
The D30 material is thermo-reactive; allow the gloves to warm up to your body temperature for a few minutes while riding, as the material will soften and contour to your hand.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Discreet integrated D30 armor offers superior impact safety.
- Excellent grip performance due to silicone-patterned fingertips.
- Touch screen responsive fingers work reliably.
- Breathable laser-perforated palm prevents excessive sweat buildup.
- Durable yet flexible softshell material.
Cons
- Slightly thicker profile than non-armored trail gloves.
- Limited color options focused primarily on black.
- Provides more insulation than minimal racing-style gloves.
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the longevity of your Troy Lee Designs Gambit Gloves, follow these care instructions. Ensure the compression cuff is fully seated against the wrist before riding to prevent the glove from shifting. For cleaning, hand wash in cold water using a mild, non-abrasive detergent to maintain the integrity of the conductive thread in the fingertips. Avoid machine drying, as excessive heat can degrade the silicone grip prints and the D30 material. Air dry flat away from direct sunlight.
