DrainTex is an essential tool for landscapers, civil engineers, and DIY homeowners who need a reliable solution for drainage and soil separation. Its primary benefit is maintaining long-term drainage efficiency by preventing silt migration while allowing water to pass through freely, though it requires careful overlap during installation to ensure structural integrity across large areas.

No, DrainTex is designed specifically for drainage and soil separation. It does not provide the UV resistance or density required for effective long-term weed control.
You should overlap the fabric by at least 300mm to ensure complete separation between the soil and the aggregate layers.
Yes, DrainTex features high permeability to allow for efficient water flow while filtering out silt and fine particles.
Yes, it is suitable for use under road and car park construction as a stabilization layer, provided it is covered by the correct depth of aggregate.
Use landscape staples or pins to anchor the edges of the fabric to the sides of the trench to prevent it from slipping during backfilling.
Ensure the subgrade is cleared of sharp rocks or debris before laying; use a repair patch of extra fabric to cover the tear with a 300mm overlap.
Verify that the drainage aggregate beneath the fabric is not compacted and that there is a sufficient slope to encourage water flow toward the drainage pipe or soakaway.
To install DrainTex, first excavate the desired area and ensure the surface is relatively free of large, sharp debris that could puncture the fabric. Lay the sheets with a minimum overlap of 300mm to ensure continuous coverage. When installing in trenches or around soakaway units, pull the fabric taut and use appropriate landscape staples to prevent shifting during the backfilling process. Avoid exposing the fabric to direct sunlight for extended periods prior to installation, as it is designed for sub-surface use where it is protected from UV degradation.
