Troubleshooting

Mug stains appear inside after repeated use.

Stubborn tea or coffee stains can often be removed by creating a paste with baking soda and a small amount of water. Apply the paste to the stained area, let it sit for a few minutes, then gently scrub with a non-abrasive sponge and rinse thoroughly.

Mug feels too hot to handle after being in the microwave or oven.

Stoneware retains heat very well. Always use oven mitts or a pot holder when removing the mug from the microwave, oven, or grill. Allow a few minutes for the mug to cool before handling directly, especially by the body of the mug.

Mug appears chipped or cracked, despite careful use.

Le Creuset stoneware comes with a 10-year guarantee against manufacturing defects. If you suspect a manufacturing fault, contact Le Creuset customer service with proof of purchase and a description or image of the issue for assistance. Note that the guarantee typically covers defects in material or workmanship, not accidental damage from drops or misuse.
