While oak is naturally antibacterial, it is generally recommended to reserve wood boards for produce, bread, and cheese to avoid cross-contamination and staining.
The board measures 2cm in height, 30cm in depth, and 39cm in width.
Yes, the hole is sized to fit most standard kitchen wall hooks or pegboards.
It is recommended to apply a layer of food-safe oil before your first use to ensure a protective barrier is established.
No, wood is an ideal surface for professional knives as it provides a slight 'give' that helps maintain sharp edges longer than glass or stone boards.
Apply a generous coat of food-grade mineral oil, allow it to soak in for several hours, and buff off any excess with a clean cloth.
Rub the surface with a slice of lemon and a sprinkle of coarse salt, let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse and dry thoroughly.
No assembly is required for the Lyna board; simply rinse with warm water and mild soap before first use. To ensure the wood remains in optimal condition, avoid soaking the board in water or putting it in the dishwasher, as this can cause the wood to warp or crack. After cleaning, dry the board thoroughly with a clean cloth and store it in an upright position or hanging by the handle to allow for even air circulation. Periodically apply a food-safe mineral oil or wood conditioner to nourish the oak and prevent it from becoming brittle over time.
