The Marlborough Carcassing Timber is an ideal solution for contractors and DIY enthusiasts who need high-strength, load-bearing wood for structural projects such as roofing, flooring, and wall framing. These Scandinavian softwood lengths provide exceptional durability and dimensional stability due to the kiln-drying process, though users should note they are strictly intended for above-ground use only.

C24 is a structural grade that indicates the timber has high load-bearing capacity, making it suitable for floors, roofs, and wall framing.
No. This timber is Use Class 3 (UC3) rated, meaning it is only suitable for above-ground use. It should not be in direct contact with the ground.
The pack contains 5 lengths of timber, each measuring 3600mm long.
It is already pressure treated for fungal and insect protection, but you may apply a wood stain or exterior sealant if you wish to alter the appearance or provide extra UV protection.
Kiln-drying removes excess moisture from the wood, which increases its strength and reduces the likelihood of the wood twisting or warping after installation.
Store in a dry, covered area off the ground to allow for proper air circulation.
Pre-drill pilot holes with a slightly smaller diameter than the screw shank to prevent the wood from splitting.
Use a sharp, high-tooth-count saw blade and cut at a steady speed to ensure a clean finish.
To ensure the longevity of your project, always store the timber in a dry, well-ventilated area until installation. If you need to cut the timber during assembly, remember that any exposed raw ends should be resealed with a suitable timber preservative to maintain the integrity of the treatment. While the timber is UC3-rated, avoid using it in areas where it will have direct contact with the ground or standing water. Use standard carpentry tools, such as circular saws and drills, to work with the material; consider pre-drilling holes for screws to prevent splitting at the ends of the boards.
