No. These bolts are intended for general maintenance and should not be used for critical internal engine or high-stress structural components.
While suitable for automotive use, they are not stainless steel and should be kept clean and dry or treated with anti-corrosion spray in wet climates.
You will need an 8mm compatible wrench or socket set, and potentially a screwdriver depending on the bolt head type.
Yes, the product is sold as a set of nuts and bolts to ensure a complete pairing for your repair needs.
While possible, it is generally recommended to use a bolt of the correct length to avoid damaging the threads or compromising the structural integrity of the fastener.
Back the bolt out and inspect the threads for debris; do not force the bolt as this can damage the receiving threads.
Verify that the 8mm size is correct for the hole and consider using a washer or a locking nut if the assembly is subject to high vibration.
Before installation, confirm that your application requires an 8mm diameter bolt and that the 40mm length is appropriate for the thickness of the material you are fastening. To prevent seizing in automotive environments, it is recommended to apply a light coating of anti-seize compound to the threads if the bolt will be exposed to moisture or road salt. Use a calibrated torque wrench where applicable to ensure the fastener is tightened to the correct specification for the specific component being secured.
