Full details
The Crusader V762 Electric Hook Up unit is designed for campers, caravanners, and motorhome users needing a safe and reliable mains power connection at their campsite. Its key benefit is providing three protected 13-amp sockets with RCD safety and a 15-meter cable, allowing easy access to power. A potential caveat is that it should not be used in damp or wet conditions, despite its splash-proof ratings.

FAQs
What is an RCD and why is it important?
An RCD (Residual Current Device) is a safety mechanism that detects imbalances in electrical current. If it detects a fault, such as current leaking to earth, it rapidly cuts off the power supply. This significantly reduces the risk of electric shock, especially important in outdoor or potentially damp environments.
What does the polarity warning indicator mean?
The polarity warning indicator shows if the live and neutral wires in the campsite power supply are correctly configured. Incorrect polarity can pose a safety risk. If the indicator is on, it means the power supply has incorrect polarity, and you should not use the unit and report it to campsite staff.
Can I use this in the rain?
The unit is rated IP44 for the sockets, meaning they are protected against solid objects larger than 1mm and splashing water. However, the product description explicitly states, 'Do not use in damp or wet conditions.' It is best to keep the main unit and connections protected from direct rain.
How many appliances can I run at once?
The unit has three 13-amp sockets. You can run multiple appliances simultaneously, but you must ensure the total power consumption does not exceed the limits of the campsite's power supply or the unit's capacity. Check the power requirements of your appliances.
What is the length of the cable?
The Crusader V762 comes with a 15-meter long connection lead.
How do I attach the unit in my tent?
The unit features integrated clips and a hanging hook, allowing you to securely attach it to a tent pole or hang it at a convenient height inside your tent or awning.
What is the IP rating?
The sockets have an IP44 rating, providing protection against dust and splashing water. The overall unit may have other ratings, but caution is advised in wet conditions.
Troubleshooting
No power to sockets
Ensure the mains plug is fully inserted into the campsite power post. Check if the campsite power post itself is active. Verify that the RCD has not tripped; if it has, check connected appliances for faults and reset the RCD if possible. Confirm the polarity warning light is off; if it's on, the campsite connection is faulty and should not be used.
RCD trips immediately
This usually indicates a fault with one of the connected appliances or the unit itself. Disconnect all appliances, then plug them in one by one to identify the faulty item. If the RCD trips with no appliances connected, there may be an internal fault with the unit.
Polarity warning indicator is on
This signifies an incorrect electrical polarity from the campsite power source. Do not use the unit or connect any appliances. Inform campsite staff of the issue. The unit is designed to prevent power flow when polarity is incorrect.
Sockets feel loose or damaged
Do not use the affected socket. Inspect for visible damage. If damaged, discontinue use of the unit and contact the manufacturer or retailer for a replacement. Do not attempt to repair damaged sockets.
