Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installation requires basic mechanical knowledge and an understanding of your trailer's brake adjustment procedure.
- Ensure the trailer is securely jacked and supported on axle stands before removing wheels.
- Disconnect the old cable from the equalizer and the brake backplate.
- Feed the new cable through the housing, ensuring the blue protective sleeve is correctly positioned to avoid kinking.
- Secure the Knott detachable end to the brake mechanism and thread the M8 end through the equalizer.
- Tighten the included M8 spherical nuts until the slack is removed, then test the brake lever or overrun damper to ensure even tension.
Regular care involves checking the blue protective sleeve for cracks or tears during your annual service interval. If the sleeve is compromised, replace the cable immediately to prevent moisture ingress.
