Setup, Compatibility & Care
Sowing Seeds:
- From late winter to spring (February-April), fill 9cm pots with seed and cutting compost.
- Place three seeds approximately 0.5cm (1/4in) deep around the edge of each pot.
- Water the compost lightly and label each pot with the variety and date.
- Place pots in a warm location, ideally around 18°C (64°F), ensuring consistent warmth for germination.
- Keep the soil consistently damp but not waterlogged until seedlings emerge.
Potting On & Transplanting:
- Once seedlings have developed, transplant each into its own larger pot.
- As plants grow, continue transplanting them into progressively larger containers.
- Before moving outdoors, harden off seedlings for 7-14 days by gradually exposing them to outdoor conditions.
- Transplant into final growing positions (pots, borders) approximately 1cm deep, with 30cm spacing between plants and rows.
Compatibility:
- Suitable for pots, window sills, patios, and small gardens.
- Thrives in well-draining soil and a sunny location.
Care:
- Ensure consistent watering, especially during dry periods.
- Provide support if plants become top-heavy with fruit.
- Monitor for common pests and diseases; this F1 variety is noted for resistance.
- Protect from frost.
