FAQs
Is this aquarium suitable for goldfish?
No, goldfish grow too large and produce too much waste for a 45-litre tank.
Does the set include a heater?
No, a heater is not included. You may need to purchase one separately if keeping tropical species.
Can I use the included light for all plant types?
The included Scaper LED is perfect for low to medium-light plants; high-demand plants may require additional lighting.
How often should I change the filter media?
Rinse sponges monthly. Replace chemical filter media components every 4-6 weeks as they lose effectiveness.
What is the primary benefit of the EVA foam pad?
It helps distribute the weight of the water evenly, preventing pressure points that could crack the glass base.
Can I replace the hang-on filter with a canister filter?
Yes, the setup is compatible with most standard small canister filters if you prefer extra filtration capacity.
Troubleshooting
Cloudy water after initial setup
This is often a bacterial bloom. Allow the filter to run and avoid adding more fish or food until the water clears naturally.
Filter flow rate decreasing
Check the intake strainer for plant debris or buildup and rinse the filter sponges in a container of aquarium water.
Excessive algae growth
Reduce the daily light duration to 6-8 hours and ensure the tank is not placed in direct sunlight.
