Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: To install, ensure the male BSP threads on both the adapter and the connecting pipes are clean and free from debris. Screw the adapter onto one pipe end and then connect the other pipe to the adapter's second male thread. Use appropriate thread sealant (like PTFE tape or pipe dope) on the threads before tightening to ensure a leak-proof seal. Tighten securely with a wrench, but avoid over-tightening, which can damage the threads or the fitting.
Compatibility: This adapter uses 3/4 inch BSP (British Standard Pipe) male threads. Ensure all connecting pipes and fittings also conform to BSP standards for a proper fit. It is designed for use with air, fuel, and water. Do not use with incompatible substances or fluids that exceed its temperature or pressure ratings.
Care: The brass construction is generally low maintenance. Clean the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. If any signs of significant corrosion or buildup occur over time, a mild brass cleaner can be used, followed by rinsing and drying. Periodically check connections for tightness, especially in systems with frequent pressure fluctuations.
