Setup, Compatibility & Care
- Line: Use monofilament or fluorocarbon fishing line. The line weight should match the size of the spoon and the targeted species.
- Knot: Tie a reliable knot, such as a Palomar knot or improved clinch knot, to connect the line to the split ring or directly to the lure (if no split ring).
- Rod and Reel: Use a rod and reel combo suitable for the size of the spoon and the target species. A medium to medium-heavy action rod works well.
- Retrieval: Experiment with different retrieve speeds and techniques to find what works best. A steady retrieve is often most effective, but try variations.
- Care: After each use, rinse the spoon with fresh water to remove any salt or debris. Store the lures in a dry place to prevent rust.
