The Smeg SIM3864N 80cm Induction Hob is designed for home chefs who demand high performance and a minimalist aesthetic in their kitchen. Its primary benefit is the combination of rapid induction heating and smart, large-format cooking zones that offer exceptional versatility for meal preparation. While the matte-black glass surface provides a sleek, modern look, it requires diligent cleaning to maintain its finish and prevent streaks, as is common with premium dark-glass appliances.

No, you must use cookware with a ferromagnetic base. If a magnet sticks to the bottom of your pan, it is generally induction compatible.
The system requires a compatible Smeg hood. Once paired, the hob communicates automatically whenever a cooking zone is active.
The matte-black glass is durable but shows fingerprints more than lighter surfaces. Regular wiping with a dedicated ceramic hob cleaner keeps it looking new.
It provides precise, tactile control over heat levels while remaining completely invisible when the hob is turned off for a cleaner aesthetic.
The hob surface only heats up due to residual heat transferred from the cookware; it does not generate heat itself, making it safer to touch than conventional hobs.
Ensure the base of the pan is ferromagnetic and fully covers the induction coil area.
Check that both the hob and the hood are properly paired according to their respective manuals and are within signal range.
Verify the control lock feature is disabled and ensure the surface is clean and dry.
Installation of the SIM3864N should be performed by a qualified professional to ensure the ultra-low-profile fit is achieved correctly. Ensure your kitchen wiring meets the power requirements for an 80cm induction unit. For compatibility, verify that all your cookware is induction-ready (magnetic base). To maintain the matte-black glass, clean spills immediately after the surface cools using a soft microfiber cloth and a mild ceramic hob cleaner. Avoid abrasive scouring pads, which can compromise the premium matte finish.
