Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Prepare the Area: Clean the damaged wood surface thoroughly, removing any loose material, dust, or grease.
- Cut: Cut off the required amount of putty from the stick. The putty combines resin and hardener in a single unit.
- Knead: Knead the putty with gloved fingers until it becomes a uniform gray color. This indicates the resin and hardener are fully mixed.
- Apply: Immediately apply the mixed putty to the damaged area, pressing it firmly into place. Shape it as needed before it begins to set.
Compatibility:
J-B Wood Repair Putty is designed for use on most types of wood. It adheres well to both finished and unfinished wood surfaces. It is compatible with most paints, stains, and finishes once fully cured.
Care:
- Store unused putty in its original packaging, tightly sealed, at room temperature.
- Keep the product away from extreme temperatures and moisture.
- Clean tools and hands immediately after use with soap and water or a solvent like denatured alcohol.
