Product Information
Full details
The Canon LP811 Lens Pouch is designed for photographers needing a lightweight, reliable storage solution for specific compact prime lenses and extenders. It provides essential protection against dust and minor impacts for gear like the 24mm f/2.8 EF lens, making it ideal for travel. However, users should note that as a soft-shell case, it lacks the rigid shock protection of hard-shell equipment cases.

FAQs
Does this case fit a standard 50mm lens?
No, the LP811 is specifically designed for the EF 24mm f/2.8 lens and specific extenders; it is likely too small for other prime lenses.
Is this pouch waterproof?
The leather construction provides some resistance to light splashes, but it is not waterproof and should not be submerged.
Can I attach this to my belt?
The pouch includes a carrying strap for hand carry, but it does not feature a dedicated belt loop.
Does it provide enough protection for checked airline luggage?
No, this is a soft-shell pouch intended for supplemental protection inside a carry-on bag, not for rough transit.
What is the primary material used?
The LP811 is constructed from leather.
Troubleshooting
Zipper feels stiff or difficult to close
Ensure the lens or extender is fully seated within the pouch; if the lens is too large or angled incorrectly, the zipper will bind.
Exterior leather showing signs of drying out
Use a specialized leather conditioner sparingly to restore suppleness, ensuring it does not touch the inner lining.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Specifically molded for precise lens fit
- Durable leather material provides a tactile, premium feel
- Compact and lightweight for easy storage
- Reliable zipper closure
Cons
- Not suitable for larger lenses beyond the specified list
- Soft-shell design does not protect against heavy impacts
- Minimal internal padding compared to thick foam cases
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To use the LP811, simply place your lens or converter inside the pouch and secure the zipper. Ensure the device is centered to allow the zipper to glide smoothly without snagging. To clean the leather exterior, wipe it gently with a dry, soft cloth; avoid using harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive materials that could damage the leather grain. Keep the pouch away from extreme moisture to maintain the integrity of the material.
