Product Information

Full details

The MagMod Creative Dome Gels are designed for photographers seeking precise and versatile color control for their strobe flashes. Their key benefit is near-indestructible durability combined with easy attachment and stacking for custom color effects. A potential caveat is their primary intended use with MagMod's Reflector XL and MagBox Pro systems, though they offer universal compatibility with most strobes. This kit includes six essential colors: Blue, Green, Orange, Red, Purple, and Yellow, made from rigid polycarbonate for long-lasting professional use.

Troubleshooting

Gel not attaching securely

Ensure the gel and the receiving MagMod accessory (or adapter) are clean and free of debris. Verify you are using a compatible MagMod adapter or accessory for your strobe.

Color appears different than expected

Check if multiple gels are stacked in an unintended order. Ensure the gel is clean. Test under consistent lighting conditions and camera settings. Remember that ambient light can affect perceived color.

Gel seems loose on flash head

Confirm you are using the correct MagMod adapter or accessory for your specific strobe model. The magnetic attachment requires precise alignment.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: The Dome Gels are designed for quick attachment. They utilize MagMod's magnetic mounting system, allowing them to snap directly onto compatible MagMod accessories like the Reflector XL or MagBox Pro. For other strobes, ensure you have the appropriate MagMod adapter.

Compatibility: These gels are universally designed to work with most modern strobe flashes, with or without external flash tubes. They are specifically optimized for use with the MagMod Reflector XL and MagBox Pro softboxes, offering the most integrated experience.

Care: Due to their virtually indestructible polycarbonate material, cleaning is straightforward. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe away any dust or smudges. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could scratch the surface. Store them flat or in a protective case when not in use to prevent unnecessary wear.
