The Knipex Needle-Nose Combination Pliers (185mm) are designed for professionals and DIY enthusiasts undertaking installation and repair work. Their key benefit lies in their versatility and precision, particularly in confined spaces, thanks to a slim head and pointed jaws. A potential caveat is the specialized nature of the hardened cutting edges, which require appropriate use to maintain their sharpness.

They are ideal for electrical installation, general repair work, gripping small parts, and cutting various types of wire (soft, medium-hard, hard).
No, these pliers are not designed for cutting hardened steel wire. They are optimized for soft, medium-hard, and hard wire up to specific diameters.
Keep the cutting edges clean and free of debris. Avoid using them on materials harder than specified, as this can damage the induction-hardened surfaces.
Yes, their slim head and precise gripping capabilities make them useful for working with wires and small components in tight automotive engine bays.
The milled groove in the gripping area provides a secure hold on small, cylindrical items like nails, pins, and bolts, preventing them from slipping while you work.
Induction hardening makes the cutting edges significantly harder and more durable, leading to a longer service life and sustained sharpness compared to non-hardened edges.
Knipex generally offers a manufacturer's warranty against defects in material and workmanship. Specific details may vary by region and retailer, so it's best to check with your point of purchase.
Check for debris lodged in the joint or jaws. Clean thoroughly and apply a small amount of oil to the joint. If the issue persists, the pliers may be damaged and require professional inspection or replacement.
Ensure you are not exceeding the maximum cutting capacities for the wire types specified. Clean the cutting edges. If they remain dull, they may have been damaged or worn beyond their expected lifespan and may need replacement.
Verify that the milled groove is clean and free of oil or grease. Ensure the part being gripped is within the capacity of the groove. For very smooth or rounded objects, grip strength may be limited.
Setup: These are hand tools and require no setup beyond ensuring they are clean and free of debris before use.
Compatibility: Compatible with standard installation and repair tasks involving wire, cables, small fasteners, and general gripping needs. Not intended for cutting hardened steel or materials beyond specified capacities.
