Setup, Compatibility & Care
To keep your cowhide rug looking its best, avoid placing it in direct, intense sunlight, which can dry out the leather and cause fading over long periods. For routine maintenance, simply vacuum the rug on a low-suction setting without a beater bar, moving in the direction of the hair growth. If a spill occurs, blot it immediately with a clean, dry cloth; do not rub, as this can force moisture into the skin. As a natural leather product, avoid using harsh chemicals or industrial cleaning agents, as these can strip the natural oils and damage the hide. If you need to store the rug, roll it with the hair side facing out and keep it in a cool, dry place to prevent moisture buildup.
