This Whiteside Router Bits set is designed for woodworkers needing precise undersize dado cuts in plywood. Its key benefit is the premium carbide construction ensuring durability and clean cuts, while a potential caveat is the 1/2-inch shank size, which requires a compatible router. The set includes three bits with cutting diameters of 7/32-inch, 15/32-inch, and 23/32-inch, all featuring industrial quality and precision ground for balance.

This set is designed for creating precise undersize dado cuts in plywood, ensuring a snug fit for shelves or panels.
All three bits in this set feature a 1/2-inch shank.
They are specifically engineered for undersize dado cuts in plywood. While they may cut other materials, their design is optimized for plywood applications.
Use the appropriate undersize bit for the specific thickness of your plywood. The goal is to cut a groove slightly narrower than the plywood's actual thickness.
Clean them after each use with a soft brush and solvent to remove debris. Store them in a dry place to prevent rust and damage.
While compatibility is based on shank size, a router with sufficient power to maintain a consistent speed under load is recommended for best results, especially for extended use.
Ensure the bit is securely tightened in the collet. Check if the bit is properly balanced and free from damage. Verify that your router is operating at an appropriate speed for the bit size and material.
Verify that you are using the correct undersize bit for your plywood thickness. Ensure the router speed and feed rate are consistent. Check for any deflection in the router or workpiece during the cut.
The bit may be dull and require sharpening or replacement. Clean the bit thoroughly to remove any buildup that could cause burning. Reduce your feed rate or increase router speed if appropriate for the material.
Setup: Ensure your router is equipped with a 1/2-inch collet. Securely insert the router bit shank into the collet, tighten firmly, and ensure the bit is running true before engaging the material. Always follow your router's operating manual for safe bit installation.
Compatibility: This set is compatible with any router that accepts a 1/2-inch shank. It is specifically designed for cutting undersize dadoes in plywood.
Care: To maintain optimal performance, clean the bits after each use to remove resin and wood debris. A soft brush and a non-corrosive solvent can be effective. Store the bits in a dry place, ideally in a protective case, to prevent damage and rust.
